Consultancy is a process. It normally begins with the recognition that a problem exists and that there is a need to gain expert opinion on how best to deal with the problem.

Using a doctor as an analogy we need to understand the patient must be looked at as a whole and not just the locality & symptoms of the immediate pain.

Imagine going to the doctor suffering from tunnel vision. It would be easy to think that the problem lies in with the head or is caused by a Migraine. But in reality the problem is much more likely to be caused by an infrastructure problem, in this case the skeletal structure being out of line putting pressure on the optic nerve, thus causing tunnel vision and Migraine.

The same can be said for a business, and to properly consult, we need to look at the business as a whole.
